English Car Flags II

I mentioned the other day about how many vehicles had one and sometimes two of these flying from their windows. Over the last couple of days though, I've been taking a closer look at some of the faces driving these cars and have to say I've been intrigued.

So far it seems to be older people by an absolute mile, and certainly not the stereotypical blokes you might imagine. Now I was just wondering if there was something a bit more deep and meaningful to this than just the fact of Euro 2004 being around the corner.

I also wonder how much of a statement is being made to our "Prime Minister". I'd like to think that plenty of people are making a statement about how repressed this government has made us regarding our National pride. Maybe we'll know after the votes have been counted on Thursday June 10th if this is true or not.

I was parked up at a local sports club tonight and I'd say 1 in 3 cars had a flag. I also found an interesting BBC article about this here.

As well as my St George I thought I'd fly one from the other window which read "Lower Petrol Tax You B*stards".
