Just Where Have The Seagulls Gone? I mentioned a few weeks ago that the nesting seagulls around here had suddenly disappeared and that is still that case. There are still a few seagulls popping over now and again, but the aggressive nesting pair are just not there. We are still convinced that no measures have been taken by the property owner due to the £20,000 price tag so the mystery deepens. One or two have been sat on the lamp-posts giving the "go away" early warning call but that is as far as it's got for now as we head towards the end of July. Clearly though the seagull problems throughout the country are still happening judging by my referers page and the continual seagull enquiries.. This resident of Aberdeen is another to suffer at the hands of the flying rats, but in this case it was a food attack. You can stand in the docks area of Gl*ucester (if you're bored or just can't find the exit) and see them diving for food all the time. They may be aggressive when food hunting but this is nothing compared to when they're "protecting their young". Last year was a nightmare as the male seagull called for reinforcements for their daily dive-bombing raids on humans. Thankfully for us, it's been much quieter this year (thankyou shotgun....) More needs to be done to stop people freely feeding them and then culls, certainly in urban areas, can take place. ...and please don't give me this "leave them alone, it's not their fault" bollocks. I'd like to know what good they actually do apart from sh*t everywhere, make horrendous noise at 3am and attack people who dare to walk on a pavement half a f*cking mile from their nest. Once they can be legally shot at I will be applying to Tewkesbury Borough Council for a job. I'd be interested to hear your seagull problems wherever you are in the country so send us an email at cthv@hotmail.com Link to my main Seagull page
