Daniel Is 3 Today!

Happy Birthday To Our Little Star...

Three years, unbelievable - where is it going? Another year and he'll be getting ready for school.

Presents today included three new Thomas The Tank Engine books, An 8ft trampoline, an 8ft x 4ft football goal, some games and plenty of new clothes. It was a shame that heavy rain overnight meant the grass was way too wet for football but there will be plenty of time for that over the summer (hopefully).

Suffice to say Daniel has had a great day, enjoyed blowing out his candles and had to be coaxed out of the trampoline as he loves it so much! I knew he would as we have some friends with the same type which he stayed on for ages.

Thanks to Grandad for his much needed help, couldn't have done it without you.

A good foot-note in Daniel's progress is that he's now gone five days wearing proper pants (not pull-ups) with no accidents. Wherever we've been he's always told us when he needs to go and it's been excellent - he even did his first "stand up wee-wee" at the weekend which made me both laugh, and feel very old at the same time!

One of Danny's favourite songs on his CD at the moment is The Wombats "Let's Dance To Joy Division" Normally he's a bit more animated than this - maybe got a bit "camera shy".

The second one see's him using his new drum & sticks to another of his favourites - "Special Brew" by Bad Manners. He loves the speedy part in the middle which we call the "Mad Bit".

Daniel's Day With Thomas

Today Danny went to see Thomas and some of his friends at the Dean Forest Railway. Quite a few people had told me it was a nice day out and they were right - his face shone when he saw Thomas for the first time, and he met the Fat Controller as well as riding on Thomas, Oliver and Daisy.

The trains ran to Lydney and back while "Daisy" ran to Parkend. There wasn't a great deal to do in Lydney, the pub was shut, so we didn't stay that long. In between the main steam engines, Thomas went about on short trips and at lunchtime one of the naughty Diesels stole his carriages which he had to go and rescue.

The weather was reasonable and Daniel really enjoyed himself, especially when he had his face painted like a tiger at the end and when the engines went "toot toot". There was a bit of rain but to be fair it was very warm and nobody really noticed.

I Need A Sleep - It's Been A Long Day!

A nice set up and pretty well organised, obviously they're looking to hit you in the pocket once you get to the shop but Daniel only wanted a couple of books ("Cranky" & "Harry and Bert") for his collection and we got him a flag too which he hasn't let go of yet.

Daniel really enjoyed out - a well recommended day out.

Thomas Land At Drayton Manor

Thomas Land was pretty much what I expected it to be, fairly small in the grand scheme of things but a wonderland for a 3yr old!

Daniel went on almost everything and certainly enjoyed flying in Harold The Helicopter and Jeremy The Jet. He was brave on the Troublesome Trucks which went a bit fast for him and enjoyed Bertie the Bus and the Caroline car ride!

He also managed a classic tantrum when we left the Thomas Shop. Enough said.

Daniel had his picture taken with Toby & Henry amongst others:

He saw some Tigers, leopards, parrots, monkeys and penguins at the Zoo which was nice for him - after we rode once on Thomas the heavens opened at 2.30 and didn't stop so we had to call it a day.

I decided to pop in to Villa Park on the way back - but Daniel was asleep so he still hasn't seen the place and obviously no pictures!
