We go into the game unbeaten in the last 3 league games, but with the cup surrender to Blackburn amidst that mini-run and not exactly in scintillating form. Still, Ian Taylor is back, and he offers a lot more to the midfield than the invisible pointy one. Delaney looks unlikely to be fit so JLS is almost certain to be played on his wrong side at right back. The 2 debatable positions are the right side of midfield (Hendrie - a better player but out of position, or UDLC - his best position but...) and who gets to partner Dion up front.

With 4 in 4 league games you can hardly leave Dion out but he seems to be almost un-partner-able. A year of Joachim and significant spells with Vassell this year seem to point to the 'little-n-large' arrangement not working - it always looks like 2 lone strikers. Angel and Dublin don't click. I'd be tempted to recommend 4-5-1, with fast breaking midfielders supporting the one forward, but we don't have either the holding or creative midfielders to make it work - but we do have more strikers than the squad needs, so it'd be a political loser, too. On the basis that he's a completely different problem for defenders I'd plump for Darius, but acknowledge that he's going to have to 'go it alone' for the most part. I'd like to see the Angel & Vassell partnership re-established before the end of the season, but Dion's form is making that look increasingly unlikely.

Spurs - good 4-3 win against Everton, Robbie Keane will be buoyant after his hat-trick. Or will we get the team that lost 0-4 at Southampton? Dean Richards might be back to steady their wobbly defence but we should have enough for at least a draw.
