RUBBISH TEAM WITH A NEW REGIME

It's been a while since I've blogged. In that time England have failed to qualify for Euro 2008 after being given a lifeline, and instead of admitting that England's players and manager are crap, the general message was that it was just the manager that was crap, and we still have world class players, but playing under the wrong manager. Of course we have world class players, that's why no league abroad wants to buy any of them.

And to save having to admit we're not very good, we've now brought in the Italian disciplinarian, who's won leagues in Italy and Spain (but what no one really mentions is that they were with those countries' top teams anyway - could Capello have won the league being manager of Cagliari?)

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the appointment of this manager, and certainly of a foreigner, especially when all the English candidates are crap.

It seems that the only people who don't know that England are crap are the English. Every foreigner in the world knows it, and if England had qualified for Euro 2008, then all the other teams would have been hoping to be drawn with us. No one fears us! We just think everyone does. So by bringing in a foreigner, that's the best person to judge on England's capabilities.

Capello's been polite on England's crapness, saying the players lack confidence, when he knows that it's actually ability.

Enough of the New Zealand of rugby who go telling everyone they're the best and deliver nothing (well, they win a few friendlies when they head over this way in the autumn, and a few friendlies in their Tri Nations and because of this they tell the world they're the best; but in a real competition that matters they're miles away from being the best).

England don't even win friendlies!

Villa have been doing well. It's a shame that the FA are against us ever getting past the third round of the FA Cup and so give us United every time, but our league position is looking better than it has done for quite a few years.

While we always surrender to Arse and Man Ure, we gave Liverpool a good game. I watched it live on Setanta, and the commentators didn't appear to have done their homework, or anyone else in the media. They all seem to have forgotten that Crouch, who scored their late equaliser, is a former Villa player. This normally is headline stuff. But before, during and after the match I didn't hear one mention of Crouch being an ex Villa player.

And we gave Chelsea a game too at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day. Once again we surrendered a lead of more than one goal. If I'm correct, we've only travelled to London twice so far this season, and both of those games finished 4-4. It's Fulham away next Sunday. Is anyone going to the betting shop to do a 4-4? I think you'll get 100/1 for that scoreline. Maybe I'll put 50p on it. Or £50.

Looks like the best we can get is a UEFA Cup place. If we don't drop stupid home points against dull boring characterless teams like Blackburn, we can do it, but I think there's still a few points to be dropped yet. And we have to play Arse and Man Ure away, so consider those defeats. Does anyone know how many games in a row United have won against us now?

Well that's it from me for now. Hoping for an easy three points against a shitty Fulham with a shitty manager, but I suspect he's good at digging teams out of a hole with the most horrible football.

Can't say I feel sorry for Laurie Sanchez being fired by Fulham. He walks out on the national team he's with in the middle of a campaign that's going well, and buggers it up for the national team, and for himself. And the reason he buggered it up at Fulham was because he brought over half the Northern Ireland squad (two players from Villa), thinking that because they played well in their Euro qualifying group, it would translate into the Premiership.

Bet 4-4 for Sunday!
