My Chemical Romance - 3 Cheers For Sweet Revenge.

A lot like Funeral for a Friend and Hell is for Heroes same kind of music and destined for great things, but will they make it? A very good album, with a mix of slower tracks and some fast superb driving pieces. "I'm not Okay (I promise)" and "You know what they do to guys like us in prison" are quality. Other tracks definitely worth listening to include "The Ghost of you" and "Thank you for the Venom."

8/10 Potentially could go places

Green Day - American Idiot.

Have only listened to this a couple of times but I am slightly disappointed. For a great punk band that are usually top class, and after hearing "American Idiot" (the single) i was very impressed, and the slower single of "Boulevard of broken dreams" was still brilliant for a slower piece, but for me there are too many slower tracks, mixed with some decent ones though. Maybe i do need to listen to the album a little more, but i am still off to see them in February, a gig update may be happening. Still love Green Day, but like Blink 182 (with the self title album) i feel so far their latest album isn't totally what i expected. However i may be saying something different in a few weeks.

7/10 Good, but not their best

Hell Is For Heroes- Transmit Disrupt.

TD.jpg:

After their ferocious debut album The Neon Handshake, and being picked as the next best thing in 2003, I was at first a little disappointed. The album does grow on me, their first single from the album, Models For The Programme is possible the best song, with a rip roaring chorus. Other tracks worth a listen are Folded Paper Figures and Silent As the Grave. I still prefer their first album, but this follow up is more optimistic, more intelligent and a very good effort from the young London quartet. It may continue to grow on me, but as it stands they may have lost their title of "the next best thing" and their follow up may not be as good as The Neon Handshake but it's still fresh and different.

7.10- An extremely good effort for an album which is definately worth a listen.
