Football Manager 2005 (aka Championship manager)

FM05.jpg:

Having recieved this game at Christmas, i reluctantly refused to play it until i had some time, knowing how addictive it can get! I was right! Very similar to the previous Championship Manager, with the main extra being "praising/slagging off managers." If you like a manager you can praise them, and say they club will go places with them in charge. The opposite being if you hate one you have some options ranging from "relgation beckons for manager X" to simply saying you hate them! Awesome.

I find it very difficult to buy players that i didn't sign in previous games, but the advantage here is that it's possible to unsettle players, and therefore making it easier to buy them. Villa are currently doing strong, but you tell it's only a game- C.Cole has scored 8 goals in 3 games for me! (Ok a hat-trick against Rochdale in league cup doesn't can't.)

If you ever have 2 weeks or so to kill, but this game (www.play.com) is the cheapest place. I soon got addicted, but it also gets a little tedious. Sorting out training, who can make forward runs, how much creative freedom are they allowed etc.

8.5/10 Still as fun and addictive as ever. 12/10 for addictiveness (it's easier to start and then stop taking heroin!)
