Cahill as a Blues player?
Am I the only one who feels decidedly odd about Gary Cahill as a Blues player? The memories of THAT goal are very fresh in my mind from a game that proved to be the difference between securing our season and dumping Blues in it. We were driving down to Kent at the time and listening to the game on the radio - though I was trying to ignore it by listening to my ipod shuffle as I couldn't hack the tension! It was one of those rare Villa moments that you will remember forever but it will be tarnished if I have to see him run out in a Blues shirt. Now, I can understand his need and desire for first team football and a reunion with Liam Ridgewell must be quite appealing but please, Gary, I beg you, not the Blues!!!!! So I am appealing for another good club to take him if he wants to go and I'm sure he'll be a faithful servant. I can't cope with seeing Villa Players in rival colours - well, Blues colours in particular! Super Kev at the Baggies feels okay! Interesting to hear that Laursen seems to want to stay after all. It must be the loyal fans who ask for his autograph in local towns that swung it for him. Incidentally, I was slightly amused that CT assumed that the restaurant must have been the 'finest' of restaurants; it wasn't at all! Just a bog standard cafe type establishment with a reasonably priced menu - two courses for 7.95. I imagine Martin was on his way home from training and fancied a bowl of carbohydrate! The prospect of a Villa signing in this window seems as far away as ever but it would be exciting to buy someone, wouldn't it? If I had the money I would buy...erm...(scratches head)... a right back like Gavin Hoyte perhaps? Crikey, it's hard when you think about it (whoops, no rude actress-bishop joke comments, please!). With that in mind, I'll sign off for now. Cheers, guys!
