Same old, same old..
Well it seems, O'Neil the 'messiah' or not, some things never change. I knew that the longer it stayed at 0-0 the more likely it was that Sunderland would nick that goal and, with it, all three points! Dean Saunders echoed my thoughts perfectly on the radio commentary and low and behold so it came to pass. (That sounds quite biblical, doesn't it? Must be the Easter influence!). The only saving grace (there I go again...) is that Blues suffer as a result of Sunderland's win - small comfort though. I know I shouldn't give up but I just can't see Everton dropping points now; they have been so consistent this season and deserve their place in the league. I do hope we don't end up sliding down to mid table and being the worst of the top half. We need to finish strongly but the size of our squad and inevitably tired limbs will make that a real challenge. My son (home from uni) is disgusted with Zak Knight and can't understand why we bought him. He feels that Curtis Davies' absence has been crucial for Villa and we look poorer at the back. Carson has looked very shaky of late and really hasn't been the same since THAT England game. Will he be here next season? I haven't heard Martin O'Neil's post-match interview as yet but it will be interesting to hear what he made of the game. Man U up next and I don't expect anyone is expecting much from that game. After all this time, being a Villa fan is as nervy as it ever was; the only thing you can safely predict is that we will be completely unpredictable! :(
