Well, only a few hours to go now until we face up to Chelsea in the cup tonight. Like O'Leary, I've got mixed feelings about it. Yes, it would be great to win, and then the two legged semi, and then the final. And let's face it, we've got a damn good chance. Our record in the League Cup has been quite good, especially against teams we shouldn't really beat, like Man U in the final.
But on the other hand, it's a few more games to play, in a season where we haven't been playing well. Practice makes perfect, some people say, but in our case, playing a few extra games could in theory put extra pressure on us in the league.
We don't want to be in the position that Villaboro were in a few years ago - losing finalists in both cups and getting relegated all in the same season.
Yes, cup runs are great, but in our state at the moment, surely the league must come first.

Besides, I remember the last time we played Chelsea in the cup. It was a total embarrassment, played in front of millions of people watching all over the world. What a great advert for the Villa that was.

Of course, another reason to win tonight is to shut the missus up. She doesn't watch football, and has not even got the remotest bother about what it's all about. Apart from twice a year (sometimes 3) when we play Chelsea. All of a sudden, she's an ardent fan. Which is nice.

Just tried to put this on Time Wasters, but it didn't go on for some reason - must be my connections going mad or something.
Anyway, as it's Christmas, everyone likes festive tunes, especially by a nice man with a beard....
Slightly rude, but then, what do you expect?
