The Impending Doom.....

This strike then. Is it the end of football as we know it? Are the greedy bastards in the game just getting greedier and greedier until they pop? Well, this is the way to go, I suppose, if they are.
At the end of the day, I know that the PFA are important to the game, just one example is the help they gave Gary Buust when his leg went all bendy, but there are better ways to get more money. Start with the players. A £75 subscription each year isn't going to bother the top players - they'd hardly notice it on their fat cheques they get each week. Why not create a tiered subscription according to wage. That way, these so called stars who want to help out the little people can do easier. That way, the PFA wouldn't have to rely on the TV money.
There is a way to stop this strike quite quickly. Instead of the League chiefs moaning that there will be a fixture pileup to fit in all the games that won't be played. Why not just say that if a game does not go ahead because of strike action, the game is made null and void. Each team will be registered with a game played, but no points are awarded. This would mean that as well as no income from the game itself, it could cost the club as a whole 3 points each time it happened. This would soon force the clubs to do something, and as they form the Premier League and Football League, it would then be in their interests directly to solve the crisis.
This should then force them to offer the same terms as before, and then everyone is happy.
If there is a strike, I can see it being the beginning of the end of the Premier League. Lets face it, if they strike, the main losers are us guys, the fans. A lot of people already resent the money the players get, which is far beyond the reach of most normal supporters. This would lead to a disinterest in following footie, thus the TV ratings would go down, and then there would be even less money in the game.
So come on chaps, sort it all out amicably before football as we know it dies.
On a lighter (?) note, a disappointment last week against Boro. Having all the play seemed to do nothing for the chances we did, and should have cvreated. The only regret was letting Gate and Ego off with a clean sheet - if only we'd have played them earlier on in the season! Mind you, we only have ourselves to blame - we know them inside out, and should know how to beat them.
Roll on Sunday, I say. Another good test of how far we've come. Having dsrawn with Man U, and beaten Liverpool, can we get a result off Leeds? Quite possibly, going on the way they played tonight, they were piss poor. They still won't have their Ozzies back, so it will be the same team as tonight more or less.
Here's hoping for a good 'un.
God, I've missed this. Two weeks non access from work is a pain. It's not that I write all the time, but just the great things everyone comes up with, too numberous to mention, so i shall not mention any for fear of favouritism. That will never do.
